Bordo’s Cobalt stub drills are manufactured from HSS-Co5 steel which is very similar to M2 HSS with the important addition of 5% cobalt.
The addition of cobalt to M2 HSS significantly increases heat resistance and allows the drill to run at higher temperatures without losing its temper (hardness).
Cobalt drills provide increased performance and tool life when machining tough steels.
HSS-Co5 (Cobalt) stub drills are ideal for use in drilling stainless steel and high tensile steel.
