Tri-Cut is an intermediate cutter/ finisher. One of the truck polishing industry products that started it all. It has a different less aggressive cut to it that our T2 brown bar and is widely used on our Orange or Yellow Airway Buffs….Tri Cut is widely used to cut out 600 or finer grade sanding marks.

Our Maverick Metal Polishing Compounds

What are metal polishing compound bars ?

Our Maverick polishing compounds are used with our Airway buffing wheels to increase the effectiveness of the wheel while being used during the cutting, buffing, and polishing process when working on, or restoring a shine to various metal. We have a large range, but to break it down, some are of a coarser consistency and are usually used to remove scratches and heavier imperfections, while the others are finer, which lends to them being used to bringing a shine to and finish your work piece.

How do I prepare for polishing

Prepping is almost entirely all about sanding. We recommend if you do have ot sand and repair the surface of damage before you polish, a good base would be to start off at 240 grit, carefully dressing the surface and then stepping to 320 grit and finally 500grit. Most polishing, for aluminum, can be polished well after prepping with 500 grit—finer grits are not usually necessary before polishing with our T2 Tripoli compound.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR POLISHING ALUMINUM?

Tripoli compounds such as our T2 Tripoli should be used for initial cutting and buffing, with the aim of removing more apparent scratches and blemishes during metal restoration on aluminum. It is the first step on on polishing aluminum and is paired with our Orange Airway buffing wheels.

Our Infinity Green Compound is often used as the second step in polishing aluminium. It is paired with our Yellow Airway Buffing wheel. This should produce a fantastic clean shine.

We offer two final finishing compounds—Our 3-Series Yellow compound and our Competition Purple compound. Both represent a show finish and we recommend that you pair either one of these final show finishing compounds with a white flannel buffing wheel. Keep in mind many of our polishers are quite happy with the two-step process outlined above and leave show polishes only to their most cherished pieces.

Pro Tip –

Use our Rebel Red or , Rebel Pro Red and liquid metal polishes between major cuttings, to help maintain a show-quality shine on your vehicles.
