The buckles:

• FASTY buckles are made of steel, a much better material for the job than cast zinc-coated buckles.
• They have a much larger opening than zinc-coated buckles, making it relatively very quick and easy to thread the strap into the buckle. This matters even more when wearing gloves or when working in tricky situations.
• Steel buckles are considerably stronger and lighter than zinc-coated buckles.
• FASTY buckles have a number of environmentally friendly anti-corrosive coatings; these exceed the automotive industry's strict anti-corrosion requirements. (FASTY does a lot of automotive OEM business.)
• Every FASTY buckle is automatically manufactured, tested and inspected, ensuring complete consistency and the highest of standards.

The webbing:

• FASTY uses UV-resistant high tenacity polypropylene webbing, made for them in Finland. Compare it to the shinier Chinese made stuff that's found so commonly across the UK nowadays, and you'll see and feel the difference immediately.
• Every strap is cut on the diagonal, making it extra quick and easy to thread it into its buckle.
• Every strap is properly heat sealed.

According to the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute, FASTY straps' lashing strength is considerably higher than the values shown on the buckles.
